Extra subsidy for maintenance of monuments for churches and associations

The new subsidy comes on top of the existing scheme for municipal monuments dating from 2022. Owners can have 40 percent of approved costs reimbursed, up to a maximum of €5,000 per four years. Only church institutions, associations and foundations that own a municipal monument are eligible, and the amount may only be applied for once every four years.
The scheme is a further elaboration of a motion adopted by the municipal council on 10 April 2025. In it, the council declared its intention to raise the subsidy ceiling for this group of owners for a period of five years, from €5,000 to €10,000 per four years. The scheme applies to applications submitted between 1 July 2026 and 30 June 2031. It will lapse automatically by operation of law on 30 September 2031. If, after five years, the municipal executive judges the scheme to have worked well, it may be decided to incorporate it permanently into the existing subsidy scheme for municipal monuments.
