Terms of use

Anyone aged 16 or over. If you are younger, you need permission from a parent or guardian.

Only send in information that is correct and that you are allowed to share. Not allowed are, among other things: content that is unlawful, discriminatory, threatening, insulting or misleading; personal data or photos of others without their consent; accusations against individuals; advertising outside our advertising options; and content to which someone else holds the rights.

What you send in remains yours. By sending it, you give MijnHasselt free permission to publish, shorten, edit and translate it into English, Polish and Arabic, to share it on Facebook and Instagram and to keep it in the archive. This permission is not exclusive: you may also use it elsewhere yourself.

You confirm that you created what you send in, or have the creator's permission, and that recognisable people in your photos agree to the photo being published. If someone holds MijnHasselt liable because this turns out not to be the case, we may recover the damage from you.

Before publication, submissions are reviewed by MijnHasselt's AI systems against these terms, our style guide and the law. A tip is never a source in itself: we first check it with an official source.

We may refuse, shorten or later remove a submission. You will then be informed, with the reason. If you disagree, let us know through the report form and we will take another look.

If you see something on MijnHasselt that you believe is unlawful, report it through the report form on the How MijnHasselt works page. Reports about unlawful content or privacy are always assessed by a person. Anyone who repeatedly submits content that is not allowed may be refused.

Your submission is processed by AI services to check, edit and translate it. How we handle your data is explained in the privacy statement on the How MijnHasselt works page.

A donation is a gift, not a purchase. You pay the amount of your choice monthly through Mollie until you cancel. You can cancel at any time through the link in your confirmation email; nothing will be charged after that. Contributions already paid are not refunded unless something went wrong: please contact us in that case. You can also have a direct debit reversed through your bank within eight weeks.

We do our best to keep everything on MijnHasselt accurate and up to date, but cannot guarantee that everything is always correct. Information about events, jobs and businesses comes from the organisers and businesses themselves. We are not liable for content from contributors or from websites we link to. This does not limit any liability that may not be limited by law.
